A Journey

The Laxmibai Sports Education and Welfare Society (LSEWS), a Non Governmental Organization (Registered Under Societies Registration Act 1860) has been founded in the year 2003 with aim to promote “Sports For All” and “Sports & Education For All”.

The main aim of the society is to provide professional sports leaders to the Governmental and Non-governmental Organizations / Institutions and also to update the society with the change in developments in Sport, Fitness, Education and Welfare. The LSEWS shall pursue these objectives through short-term vocational oriented courses in the areas of Physical Education & Sports.

  • Skill Development for Sports Officials.
  • Sports Administration.
  • Coaching and Officiating Skills.
  • Sports and Business.
  • Applying Sport Sciences to Coaching.
  • Sports First Aid-Level 1.
  • Fitness Aerobic Instructor Course.
  • Fitness and Gym Instructor Courses.
  • Inspiring Research in Sport and Its Practical Application (establishing area).

A Journey:
The Society pursues these objectives through organizing short term professional courses, Workshops, Clinics, Orientation and Refresher Programs with strategic alliance with Government Departments, Sports Councils, State Associations and National Federations. In this context, the LSEWS has organized following programs:

  1. Certificate Course In Fitness Aerobics –Regular & Weekend Courses.
  2. National Seminar on “Modern Trends & Development In Gymnastics in India,” in association with Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education & Sports Sciences (University of Delhi), 2003.
  3. Orientation Course in Volleyball  (Skill Development For Volleyball Officials) – Conducted in association with Volleyball Federation of India, 2004.
  4. Certificate Course For Fitness And Gym Instructors, Accredited by IWF & IPF 2005 (1 Course), 2006 (4 regular & 2 Weekend courses), 2007  (4 regular & 2 Weekend Courses) & 2008 (3 regular & 3 Weekend Course).
  5. Programs Organised Under the Auspicious of Tripura Cricket Association (Affiliated To BCCI)
    • An Orientation Program for Tripura Cricket Association’s Trainers’ In Fitness was held in the month of April 26 to 30, 2007.
    • 21 days NCA Training Camp for Cricketers Under 15, Under 17, Under 19 along with the present Ranji Team was held from May 2, 2007 to May 22, 2007 at Agartala
    • An Orientation Program for Trainers’ of Tripura Cricket Association’ was held inthe month of May 2nd to 8, 2008.
    • Conducted a Talent Hunt Program for all Districts of Tripura from May 9th to 17th ’08.
    • 15 days Fitness Training Camp for Cricketers Under 15, Under 17, Under 19  was conducted from May 19, 2008 to June 2, 2008 at Agartala.
    • 15 days Fitness Training Camp for Cricketers selected on the basis of Talent  identification program was conducted in Three Elite Districts of Tripura from May 19, 2008 to June 2, 2008 at Dharama Nagar, Belunia, Sadar Districts  respectively.
    • 15 days Fitness Training Camp for Women’s Cricketers was conducted from August 24, 2008 to Sept. 8, 2008 at Agartala.
    • 15 days Fitness Training Camp for Cricketers Under 22and Ranji Probables was conducted from June 20, 2008 To July 4, 2008 at Agartala.
    • An Orientation Course for Level I & Level II  was conducted from Aug, 2008 under the Auspecious of Rajasthan Cricket Association (affliated to BCCI).
  6. Program Organised Under The Auspicious Of Dept of Art, culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of Jharkhand:
    • An Orientation Program for Coaches & Fitness Training Program for Players Preparing for National Games 2008 at Ranchi under the auspecious of  Department of Art, Culture, Sports And Youth Affairs, Govt. of Jharkhand, was organized in the month of January 2008.
    • An Orientation Program for Physical Education Teachers of Jharkhand at Ranchi from April 2-8, 2008.
  7. Program Organised For Schools:
    • a. An Orientation Program in Health, Fitness & Wellness was  organized forTeachers of Uttam Public School For Girls in April 21,2007.
    • b. A workshop Organised for Physical Education Teachers of DAV Public Schools from June 29, 2008 to June 30, 2008 at Vikas Puri, Delhi.

    • Orientation and Refresher Programs for the Trainers’ and Fitness Training Program for Cricketers of Jharkhand Cricket Association; J & K CricketAssociation; & Andaman Cricket Association during the year 2008-2009.
    • Orientation and Refresher Programs for the Physical Education Teachers & Coaches of Tripura State during the year 2008-2009.
    • Training & Development of  potential Players from all Major Sports of Tripura Under the Auspicious of Govt. of Tripura.
    • Training & Development of Coaches of Manipur Cricket Association (Affiliated To BCCI) from January 2009 -10.
